Joining us for ChangeFest25? Here’s some helpful info to plan your visit to Walyalup.

Wednesday 19 – Friday 21 November 2025 on Whadjuk country in Walyalup (Fremantle, WA)

Held by Collaboration for Impact in partnership with local hosts Imagined Futures, this national gathering will bring together changemakers from across the country to listen, share, heal, and act. We’re expecting another 500 attendees, so book your ticket now to not miss out!

ChangeFest25 will take place over 2.5 days, with some optional evening activities. We encourage you to arrive to Walyalup (Fremantle) by Tuesday 18 November evening to join us for the full experience; leave from Friday afternoon after lunch. The official program will be held approximately:

  • Wednesday 19 November, 9am-5pm
  • Thursday 20 November, 9am-5pm
  • Friday 21 November, 9am-1pm approx

VENUES

The main gathering hub will be at Fremantle Oval, Parry St, Fremantle – a historic venue and a key feature of the local area for decades.  Other venues forming the ChangeFest precinct are:

  • Esplanade Park, Marine Tce – Our opening and closing outdoor ceremonies will take place here
  • Fremantle Oval function rooms & Stephen Michael Foundation pool room
  • Freo.Social, Parry St
  • Others to be announced

All of the ChangeFest venues are within very close proximity to each other. Transport will be provided for those that need it – please specify access needs during registration.

TRAVEL AND TRANSPORT

How do I get from Perth Airport to Fremantle?
There are several options:

  • Train (most convenient): Take the Airport Line from Airport Central Station to Perth Station, then transfer to the Fremantle Line. Travel time ~59 minutes. Cost: AUD $8–12.
  • Bus: Route 380 to Perth Busport, then Bus 910 to Fremantle. Travel time ~1.5–1.8 hours. Cost: AUD $5–15.
  • Taxi / Rideshare: Taxis take ~30–40 minutes (AUD $60–75 depending on traffic). Rideshare (Uber/Didi) fares range AUD $30–70. Note: Airport pickup fee of AUD $4–4.50 applies.
  • Airport Shuttles: Shared and private services operate between the airport and Fremantle. Prices start from ~AUD $64 per person. Travel time 30–50 minutes.

How do I buy a public transport ticket in Perth?

  • Cash/Single Tickets: Available at vending machines at train stations (accept cash and card).
  • SmartRider Card: Buy at InfoCentres, airport outlets, or Fremantle retailers. Tap on/off when travelling.
  • DayRider / FamilyRider Passes: Unlimited daily travel. Buy at vending machines, InfoCentres, or staffed stations (not available via SmartRider).

Note: Buses accept cash but no change is given, so carry exact fare.

How do I get around Fremantle?

  • Walk: Fremantle is compact—most attractions, restaurants, and Fremantle Oval are within 5–10 minutes’ walk.
  • Public Transport: Buses and trains run regularly to/from Perth CBD and suburbs. Route 532 buses run every 15 minutes through Fremantle CBD.
  • Parking: 4,000+ bays available in the city. Time limits and fees apply. No parking available at Fremantle Oval.
  • Taxis & Rideshare: Ranks at Fremantle Station, Adelaide Street, and Collie Street.

Fremantle Oval is ~10 minutes’ walk (550–600m) from Fremantle Station.

 

WHERE TO STAY

Fremantle is flat and our venues are within short walkable distance.

You are welcome to book your preferred accommodation in central Fremantle.

For those who prefer to stay in Perth CBD, there is a regular suburban train from Perth city to Fremantle, ending within a 10 minute walk of our venue hub.

Suggested hotels include:

  • Esplanade Hotel by Rydges (room block held for ChangeFest, bookable during ticket purchase): Corner Marine Terrace & Essex Street, Fremantle (0.9 km / 10 min walk to Fremantle Oval)
  • Quest Fremantle: 8 Pakenham Street, Fremantle (0.75 km / 9 min walk to Fremantle Oval)

WHAT TO BRING

  • Water bottle – we aim to be sustainable, so please byo drink bottle for refilling
  • Hat – the November month is sunny in Fremantle! Some activities will be outdoors, so hat is recommended

Dietary requirements will be catered for. Please nominate at the time of registration or for queries, contact conference@leishman-associates.com.au.  The following meals will be provided as part of your ChangeFest25 ticket.
