Early Childhood is about giving children aged 0–5 the best possible start in life. It puts children’s voices at the centre and connects local, placebased action with bigger system change. The focus is on helping families keep children healthy, learning, and safe while strengthening the support around them. When families and communities are involved from the start, children have the best chance to thrive.
Key issues can include child development and health. Family isolation - emphasising the importance of extended family community for child development. Safety - not only physical, but emotional and financial security are also important - as is access to quality early education and resources. Building a strong, joined up approach means everyone—families, services, and government—works together to create safe, nurturing environments where every child can reach their potential.
