About the Learning Network

Where learning becomes connection, and connection becomes change

Between the Gatherings, the ChangeFest Learning Network provides opportunities for people across the country to stay connected, deepen practice, and learn from each other. It’s where relationships keep growing and questions can stay open.

All over Australia, people are working together differently, to shift decision-making closer to communities and build systems that support shared leadership. Often, this work happens in isolation, the Learning Network exists so people can learn together instead.

It connects practitioners, community leaders, public servants, backbone teams, funders, researchers, and young people who are all sharing, exploring, reflecting and putting into practice how change happens when communities lead. Through the Learning Network, the ChangeFest movement continues learning across time, distance, and place.

Grounded in community leadership and place

Like the ChangeFest Gatherings, the Learning Network is shaped by the experiences, priorities, and questions of the people who participate.

Learning is grounded in place, relationships and lived experience. It recognises the leadership of First Nations peoples and the knowledge systems that have supported communities to thrive for tens of thousands of years.

Through shared learning experiences, participants explore what is working, what is changing and what is still being discovered. They can reflect on their own practice, learn from others and recognise how their work connects to something larger happening across Australia.

Continuing the conversation between gatherings

ChangeFest gatherings create moments of connection. The Learning Network keeps those connections alive.

The Learning Network currently includes:

  • Lunch & Learn: Free online sessions that bring people together to explore stories, questions and experiences of community-led change.
